Ongoing Projects

Currently, NSRC rehabilitates farmers’ landholdings in five locations in Sri Lanka (Fig. 1, Map) including Serukele, Lemastota, Kalmunai, Kalpitiya, and Moneragala. These project sites are marked as red circles on the map of Sri Lanka.

Farmers use various methods to rehabilitate land such as regenerative agriculture, analog and conservation forestry to gain ecosystem goods and services in short- and log-terms including cash income (Fig. 2), nutritious food (Fig. 3), fertile soils (Fig. 4), timber (Fig. 5), and habitat for biodiversity, e.g., pollinators – butterflies (Fig. 6).
